I am seriously tempted to read the story to find out what the illustration is about, I don’t think I have ever read anything by Sam Merwin.
I have read some of the other authors; Poul Anderson, Clyde Woodruff, Algis Budrys, James Gunn, Arthur Porges, Robert A Madle and Winston Markes.
